Kinloch Anderson has been respected and known in Edinburgh, Scotland’s Capital City, since 1868 as the foremost experts in kilts, tartan and Highland Dress, and makers of luxury traditional clothing with a strong emphasis on Scottish Design.

Our family-owned business is now in its sixth generation of management and is proud holder of three Royal Warrants of Appointment as Tailors and Kiltmakers to Her Majesty the Queen, His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh and His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. Kinloch Anderson has been supplying the British Royal Family since King Edward VII in 1903.
We are recognised today as market leaders in the manufacture of high quality clothing in an unsurpassed range of Scottish tartans, checks, tweeds and various cloths in wool, natural fibres and Cashmere.
Our retail shop, encompassing a newly opened Heritage Room, is located in Leith. This museum exhibits traditional clothing and products which have been made throughout our company’s history. You can take a short guided tour of the museum and listen to a live talk on kilt-making and tartan and see craftsmanship in the factory through a viewing window.
The shop offers not only the very best of traditional Highland Dress, but also a wide range of Kinloch Anderson accessories and gifts.
Getting there -
For cruise ships berthed in Leith, Kinloch Anderson is within ten minutes’ walk along Commercial Street from the ship or a few minutes in a taxi.
From Queensferry and Rosyth the taxi journey will cost around £35 for the 30 minute journey. Alternatively take train or shuttle coach services into Edinburgh and use the excellent Edinburgh bus services to Leith.
