Getting around from Newhaven
Newhaven harbour is a little fishing port. Tenders take around 10 minutes to travel in from the ship.
From your ship it is an easy walk into the nearby shopping centre, or to see one of the most popular attractions The Royal Yacht Britannia.
By Bus
There are a variety of buses passing near to the tender port. Because of Road Works associated with a new tram service, the recommended bus to the city centre is the service 11. Local volunteers on the pier will give you directions.
For unlimited travel around the city on Lothian Buses, an Adult Day Ticket costs £6. Buses take cash (exact fare) or contactless payments (up to a maximum of £30).
There is also a hop on- hop off service - The Majestic Tour which will take you around major city attractions including the Castle and the Royal Mile.
By Taxi
Taxis will be waiting on the quayside. Some cruise operators offer a shuttle service to the city centre by coach. There are no rail connections in Leith, and your nearest station is Edinburgh Waverley.
It is also possible to walk around Newhaven or along to Leith, exploring the many shops and eateries.
Car parking
On street parking is available. Your tour company may offer to assist.
