Getting around from South Queensferry

South Queensferry has excellent transport links with Fife, Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland.

At South Queensferry you anchor just off shore, and will disembark from your ship by one of the ship's tenders and taken the short five-minute journey to the Hawes Pier. There our welcome team will point you in the direction of your excursion coach if you have pre-booked a tour, or give you advice on your plans for the day, and the different sorts of transport you can choose.

By rail

Lothian Buses operate service X99 Cruiselink for direct (non-stop) transfer to the City Centre (St Andrew Square). Return Tickets cost £12.00 Adult & £6 Child and also allow customers to use other city buses on the network. X99 ticket + City Bus Tour costs £28.00 Adult (accompanied children travel free on tours). Crew members with a valid ID travel for free on service X99. Service 43 is the local bus to Edinburgh from Queensferry Town Centre, just a 10 minute walk from Hawes Pier. X99 tickets can also be used on this service.


By Air

Edinburgh Airport is the nearest airport to South Queensferry. It is about 15 minutes drive away.

Car parking

On ‘cruise ship days’ parking on the promenade is very restricted. Visitors can park outwith the restricted areas, either in the village or in the immediate area.
